How exactly Edie Britt will be out of frame from “Desperate
Housewives” is finally revealed. Warning, spoiler ahead. The character played by Nicolette Sheridan will leave the show by being killed off, suffering from the jolt from a power line.

National Enquirer is the first to report this and no confirmation from the studio is given yet. Edie is said to experience a ‘final destination’-kind of syndrome, surviving a car crash only to die from a live wire moments later. The episode will be aired in April.

Sheridan is taking her departure from the show with her head held up high. “I’m OK with leaving,” the actress said. “I’m on to the next project and done with this show.” Her co-star Eva Longoria meanwhile, is not so keen on the idea. “I love her so much as a person, and I love the character of Edie Britt, that I can’t imagine the show without her,” Eva told Extra.

No clue yet of what ‘new project’ Sheridan will take but Longoria said, “She’s looking forward to new adventures, and she’s a star, so she’s going to go on to great things.”

Preview of “Desperate Housewives” 5.15 is released. Titled “In a World Where the Kings Are Employers“, the episode will air February 15. Also included below is the second “Ask Desperate Housewives” where after sitting with Felicity Huffman on the first, creator Marc Cherry is accompanied by Kevin Rahm who plays Lee in the show.

Susan starts a new job in order to give son M.J. the best, but when Mike leaves their son in Katherine’s care, anger and jealousy pervade. As Scavo’s Pizzeria continues to take a hit in the current economy, Lynette tells Tom they have to sell. Carlos receives a generous bonus when Gaby discovers his boss’s dirty little secret; and Orson confronts Bree when he learns she’s given Andrew a raise. Meanwhile, Dave grows wary that the neighbors are beginning to suspect he’s up to no good.

In the question-answer session, Marc Cherry reveals that he will finally make a cameo on the finale of season 5, doing a little “Hitchcock”. Meanwhile, Kevin Rahm dishes on what kind of scandal that his character may come into and what made him interested in playing for the character in the first place.

After the 100th episode, “Desperate Housewives” will take a three weeks break before returning on February 8 with “Mama Spent Money When She Had None“. This time, Gaby and Carlos will be rich again, while others take the opposite route.

Bree reaps the success of her new book by treating herself to a new car, while Lynette and Tom resolve to sell his Mustang for some extra cash; and Susan is determined to send MJ to the best school, even though she and Mike can’t afford it. Meanwhile, Gaby joins Edie’s no nonsense boot camp to get herself back into shape, and Lee is conflicted over whether to tell Lynette and Tom some disturbing facts about Dave.

The preview that has just been released at the end credit of the previous episode, gives information that fans can get answers regarding the show as well as behind-the-scenes on ABC.com. There will also be an extended preview of the 5.14 episode.
