Desperate Housewives to Air Through 2012?
ByIt seems that we may be seeing the folks on Wisteria Lane for a few more years than expected. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Desperate Housewives creator has indicated that he is in negotiations with ABC for two additional seasons of his ABC series.
Cherry had publicly indicated that he was setting an end date for the series after the seventh season, but he said yesterday that he had changed his mind and is looking to extend the series up to nine seasons.
ABC had confirmed the talks, but said no deals have been made. The show, currently in its fifth season, has still not been renewed past May as of yet.
“The five-year jump seems to have reinvigorated interest in the show, and the ratings are terrific,” Cherry said, referring to the show’s story leaping five years into the future.
